Sustainability
As a brand, Aussie Pacific is committed to playing our part in the sustainable future of our planet. Over the last 18 months, our team has embarked on a journey across all platforms of our business on how our products can contribute to reducing the Global Carbon Footprint.
The apparel industry has, as a whole, a responsibility to play our part in reducing, recycling and re-purposing. Our latest fabric offerings, under the AP ELITE range play their part by being manufactured from recycled and sustainable materials.
As an industry leader, AP is driven by both environmental and social responsibilities, to deliver a sustainable and eco-conscious program. Our partners across all levels now have an opportunity to join us, and further their own environmental commitments and strategy strengthening their own market positions by using AP as their apparel partner.
Furthermore, as AP looks to become a leader in environmental sustainability, we are endeavouring to implement the following practices:
• Reduce energy consumption through the implementation of more efficient equipment, technology and processes such as the installation of insulation and LED lighting.
• Utilise packaging materials that are more environmentally conscious such as recycled paper, recycled garment fabric and biodegradable packing bags.
• Movement towards renewable energy sources such as installing solar panels.
• Minimisation of waste in factory processes and advocating proper disposal of any hazardous substances.
• Partnering with suppliers that are similarly committed to being more environmentally conscious.
• Increased focus on digital marketing has resulted in a significant reduction in printed marketing materials such as brochures.
The cornerstone of our sustainability program is our range of AP Elite Fabrics. Encompassing 27 woven and knitted fabrics made from a combination of recycled polyesters and BCI cotton, it is perhaps the most comprehensive sustainable range in the apparel industry. The process is as follows
